I can export MP4 file. But when I try to export to DVD it boggs down when I click on DVD. Takes 3 minutes to open the next window. Then when I click Next VS locks up. Shows using 9 to 11% CPU in task manager but never does anything for 23 minutes this last time before I ended task with task manager.

Placed mp4 video files in timeline, selected Share, selected DVD, window opened after a few seconds, clicked on Next, DVD window disappeared, selected DVD again, window opened, clicked on Next, this time proceeded to Menus window, selected Next, proceeded to Disc burner window, so appears to be working correctly. Then tried AVCHD, this time fully functional

ddickerson -- when you say you are trying to "export to DVD". But with your earlier reference to mp4, are you trying to export mp4 to DVD? I guess you know that to burn a DVD you need mpeg-2 not mp4. While the burning module can convert mp4 to mpeg-2 before starting the DVD burn itself, it is often better to produce mpeg-2 in the Edit mode, and then export that to DVD. Have you tried that?

Ken, I was trying to create a DVD from the project or from the timeline, whatever is correct terminology. The MP4 was to upload to YouTube. I could not get it uploaded directly from VS. I am new to VS and this is my first time at sharing out of VS. But I don't understand why VS keeps locking up. I said crash earlier which may indicate the program shutdown and went away. That has happened also but not on this problem. It just stops with the hourglass showing until I shut it down with Task Manager.

Hi It is probably the process Convert Title that is failing, we can avoid that by first creating a compliant video file. With your project open on the main timelines, go to Share – SD (720 x 576, 16:9, 25p, 8Mbps) for pal SD (720 x 480, 16:9, 30p, 8Mbps) for ntsc This will render the project to a DVD Mpeg2 compliant video file .mpg Does this process complete without problems, play the video to check quality. If yes Start a new project, and just to match the properties insert the new mpg to the top timelines, accept the message to match the properties. Important…. Remove the video from the timelines, with an empty timeline do Share DVD. This opens the burner module. Top left for Add Media files – Add Video files, browse for your new mpg file. You are now about to burn the video file not the VSP project file. When you get to the last panel, pressing burn should start the process with Convert Menu. The Convert Title is not required. Some more info on the burning process lata.me.uk/corel/all.htm

Trevor, thanks for the suggestions. The below is my work over the last few hours.
From what you say, I guess I need to do Share>MPEG-2>then choose from the Profile drop down menu. In the drop down menu, my closest choice to your suggestion is MyDVD(720x480, 16:9, 60i, 6Mbps)
Well the file it created had a few problems in the first few seconds of play. The music that should start immediately waited about 3 seconds. Then the first cross fade at the 6 second mark goes black for 5 seconds. Then the music stops 5 seconds early at the 35 second mark. Then all seems good after that for the 68 minute video. Now creating another MPEG-2 to see if any different.
Second try same as first. But also enabled the subtitles that I had created. The subtitles start at 46 seconds but the video is out of sync starting at 52 seconds.
Third try create MPEG-4, FHD(1920x1080, 30p, 15MBps), to load in Adobe PE so I can make a DVD that I can't wait any longer on. This will have subtitles which is one of the reasons I am trying to switch to VS (plus multcam if I can figure that out in the future). Same results with the 6 second delay. It plays fine in the timeline.
Now I have shutdown VS and restarted to see if that helps. Earlier yesterday I did have a 6 second delay in the main video due to an error on my part where a segment got slipped somehow. I did fix that error yesterday and created an MP4 file that worked, and I uploaded it to YouTube. Here is the link in case you want to see what I have going. Now the same error seems to be showing up even though its fixed on the timeline. That is why I have restarted VS to see if it goes away. Will post results in few minutes when it finishes with this attempt.

Trevor may be asleep right now. But if you can produce an mp4 which runs exactly as you want, then you start a new project in VS and insert the mp4 in the timeline. Then go to Share and select mpeg-2 to get your material for the DVD. Then start another new project, insert the mpeg-2 and again go to Share > DVD -- NOT MyDVD -- and your mpeg-2 should not be in the VS Burning Module. Then build your menu and burn your DVD.
Alternatively, with your good mpeg-4 you could insert that into a video converter like the freeware Handbrake which some of us here use. And set the output for mpeg-2. When you have that new DVD-compatible mpeg-2 go back to VS, insert the mpeg-2 and go on from Share > DVD as I have outlined above.

Well @#$%^&, restarting VS did not fix the deplay problem either. I'm stuck. Video plays correctly in the timeline in VS but when exported has the 6 second delay.

Hi Yes in slumbering..... I viewed your YT video, I assume that is a good video and what you are aiming for... Can we go back to the beginning as you appear to be having issues with audio sync. What device was used to record the video, phone or camcorder / camera, the program does not handle variable video rates that well, iPhone may use variable. Can you right click one of your video clips for properties, what are they? Viewing the frame rate ...... 29.97fps, 30p, 60i is ok, other rates like 29.93 as an example would be variable. Can you also look at the project properties from Settings – Project Properties, they should be same as or similar to your video properties. OK We are aware where audio sync is an issue deselecting Smart Rendering may help. Go to Share – what profile you choose here can depend on your video profile. Top left is an option for “same as project settings” please change that option to "same as first clip" if available, that should use your video properties. Otherwise choose the mpeg2 DVD option. Remember to deselect Smart Render before hitting Start. ![](https://i.ibb.co/QFTcLZ4/Share-DVD.jpg)

ddickerson47 Thanks for those details. It is good that the video is using a constant frame rate and is progressive. I would render the project to those settings, this should provide the highest quality video an archive file. Share-Same as First Clip or Same as Project Settings will do that. Play this video using your media player to check quality. You say you are experiencing audio issues, 6 seconds is a long time. Have you added additional audio clips, if no I cannot understand what is going out of sync. When rendering can you deselect Smart Render. Clearly we have to fix the above before moving on to burn a disc..

Well I am trying to render as you suggested. It is taking FOREVER. Started it last night and guess computer went to sleep before it finished. This morning it was at 50%. I aborted and started again. After an hour or so it is at 38%. I set sleep to never.
How do I copy and paste a screen smipet here to help in show and tell.

Hi I assume you are trying to render the main project. Where your Video Properties match the Share options rendering should be at its fastest. If your project is complex, that is using lots of filters etc then render will be slower. As a test... If there is a problem with audio during the beginning we can set the project range indicated by an orange bar to the top of the timelines, allowing us to render a short section, of course render will be quicker, set the playback range to a few minutes. When you Share can you use the option, Same as first clip, ( view the text in the Properties panel, are they as your video files properties, Enable Smart Render selected, Create Preview Range only selected. Does that render OK with the 6 sec audio correct. Some info on Project Range, scroll to second image… lata.me.uk/corel/trimbar/trim_bar.htmScreen shot I use Alt + Print Screen to copy the active window to my Clipboard, then paste to an image editor to create a Jpeg, I resize to keep the image small, 1200 ish. You can then either attach the image to your post or upload the image to a share site to provide a link here. post updated In my previous post I provided an image hosted at ImgbbI Click the image to show the Imgbb details

Yes, was trying to render the main project using First Clip Properties. Also tried using Same as Project Settings.
After 8 hours and only at 85% I aborted. Restarted computer and tried rendering with those and other settings. Everything taking way too long.
Deleted the graphic stuff at the beginning leaving only the video, still slow.
So started a new project and loaded two new video files from todays church service. No edits, just tried to render out and still slow.
The sync problem is not the audio track to video. It's out of sync with the closed caption (subtitle track). I did try rendering the first couple minutes a few days ago and it was in sync so thought it was fixed. But when I tried to render the whole thing again the 6 sec out of sync showed up again. Weird.
