Hi I don’t use grouping that much, just not had the need. It appears that the audio clip has to be within the bounds of the video clip. When I set the start of audio clip at say 2 seconds with the video starting at 3 sec then Group was disabled, same goes for the nd of the clip / group, If that makes sense.
Why they do that may be associated with rules when creating Fast Flick templates where clips have to be placed in a particular order, other wise its just been overlooked, maybe ask the question to Corel Support. I don't see any reason why the group option should be disabled, maybe others have thoughts on this.

A very good catch Trevor... :-)
When I revisited the clip I remembered I'd allowed the music track/timeline to extend some seconds past the video timeline for a sound fadeout.
I brought the music time line back to end of the video timeline and the Menu-Group was available and worked.
Anyway... I've put the sound track back to length, and I've now added a black background to extend the video timeline to = the sound timeline, then grouped them okay.
Thanks Ax

Had a little play with the video and audio track thing, just to see what was what. :-)
AFAICS. The allowable difference between the Video and Audio timeline lengths, before the Group option Greys out is very, very small. Thus the need for a something on the shorter time line to make them = and groupable. :-)
How interesting all this new 'learnin' is in my dotage.

As a footnote to my Grouping quest, in the test video I've replaced the equalising Black background with a Credits board that fades out at the same time as the the Audio track fades out.
As I have discovered, with all your suggestions and advice, Corel Video Studio is not that different to the old "Serif Movie Plus X6" just a difference in naming things and techniques.
Thank again for the assist... Most appreciated. :-)

Hi arturox , Since you are new to Video Studio, may I suggest you take advantage of the offer from Studio Backlot. When you installed the program, a Studio Backlot icon would have appeared on your desktop offering 7-10 days free access to their site (the offering changes over the years). Paul Holtz provides excellent training videos on Video Studio. The site also contains project packs and other content for your video production. Although I have been using Video Studio for many years, I find Studio Backlot invaluable and a great resource to the VS community. Last week I received two email offers from Studio Backlot; 60% off their one year subscription using the promo code SAVE60% and 55% off their 2 year subscription using the promo code 2YRS8999. The 2 year offer apparently ends today Feb 20th. Not sure about the one year offer. Also another great resource on YouTube is Gripps2211. Video editing for absolute beginners Corel Videostudioarturox, all the best with your video projects using Video Studio. Reading your previous posts, you seem to be coming along nicely. Video Studio is a great editing program, particularly for beginners since its relatively intuitive and doesn't have a steep learning curve like other editors. Cheers!

Sorry, back again. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)
I've now moved on to a bit of image tweaking, colour, contrast etc... I have No problems with those controls. But...
I would also like to slightly sharpen this old video I'm now working on, but I can't find any mention in the Corel Video Studio 2023 manual, about sharpening. Maybe in CVS it's called something else.
Is it possible using CVS to sharpen a little, an old video?
Thanks Ax

Hi First I have to say that project playback was never as good as the final output played on our media players. There is an option via Settings Preferences (F6) Edit tab – resampling quality, I always set this to Best. Little or no documentation on this option, I was told by support to choose Best which certainly helped with the quality of my shared video.
OK There are a couple of Sharpen filters in the FX library, look at the New Blue Essentials and Focus option. You can always do a search for Sharpen, remember to clear the box when finished
