I run a script called Resize80 which resizes my photos to 80%. I do this through a batch process. Lately, I've noticed that my originals are not being overwritten with the change and are instead being copied. Below are my steps.
File, Batch Process, (select photos), Script, Resize80, Apply, Next Output Settings: Destination folder: Original
Filename: Original Naming Conflicts: Overwrite without warning.
And I get copies of the originals in the same folder.
Is there something else I need to do? Or is this perhaps part of the "new and improved" Corel?

Yeah, this is a known bug with the batch process. I can't remember when it appeared. I hadn't noticed it until someone pointed it out since I never overwrite my originals with edits. It's nothing you're doing, but bugs get missed and then we have to wait for their developers to add it to their list of priorities. Now that I think about it though I should test if the original batch process command also has this bug in recent versions of PSP or if it's only in the new command. I'll do that when I get home. If you want to test it for yourself you can download this script - drive.google.com/file/d/1uLykhoDZXI-ivCUtHxhIX1v3k9W5cchz/view?usp=sharingBecause it needs access to your harddrive (to open and save files) it needs to be unzipped into your scripts-trusted folder. But you can see if the original Batch Process has the same bug.

Thank you, levifiction. I had a feeling this might have been it. It started recently, and I've had this version, 2023 Ultimate, less than a year, having to do away with my beloved 2018 version because I had to upgrade my computer and Corel said they no longer supported 2018. I guess I'll have to muddle through until it gets fixed. Perhaps a support ticket to Corel might trigger someone to fixing it.

I still use the old JASC PSP9 when scripting! And it still works fine.

I registered all my versions from X2 with Corel. But I can't install anything lower than PSP 2019. Tried it on different machines with both Windows 10 and 11, but get either the "Illegal copy" message or invalid/incorrect serial number. I have copies of all the numbers on a separate disk. None of my versions are illegal, nor did I make a typing error as you can copy and paste.

Have you tried turning on "Compatiblity" mode? This is a Windows feature not a PSP one. It tells Windows to try running the program as if it were on a previous version of Windows. If you don't know how to turn this on, on your desktop right-click on the shortcut icon for the program. Select 'Properties' from the menu. On the properties dialog that pops-up look for the "Compatibility" tab. Turn on Compatibility Mode and set the version to Windows 7 for best compatibility.

Not sure if it helps, in psp 2021 the batch process using a script does overwrite the originals if the relative option is enabled. So maybe the bug started with psp 2022 or psp 2023 (i have neither of them).
