In videostudio 2023 I would like to get a mask frame that works better on portrait photos in slide shows. I want to eliminate the black bar on the sides look by making it appear like the image is blended into the black background. The effect is available using Matte Modes: Mask Frame but those frames are too wide and the straight edges of image are visible. sample image

Just found a video that shows how to do what i want but theres some missing information. at 1:30 a the frame selected is shown vertically but is horizontal in the pick box. My frame shows up horizontally and my image is clipped on the sides still. edit...turns out that video I linked does work as demonstrated in the video. For some reason it wont work if I have applied pan and zoom. So many gotcha's!

Hi There is a FX filter called Background Blur this may do what you want at least worth a look, find in the Specials section It creates a background blur using similar colours contained in the image.
