A couple days back PSP2021 gave me this odd popup message. That was the second time I've seen it and both times I needed to get a photo done fast.
------- Command Execution Failed -----------
Command Name: JGLObjectToSelection
Error Text: Could not write undo data to disk. Try closing documents, clearing history, or deleting files to free up additional disk space.
When it happened (both times) I was in the middle of typing something, Not even using undo/redo.
Once in regular Arial font, the time before was in Technical font bolded.
After I closed the popup PSP wouldn't let me save, save as, copy, paste, nothing worked except zoom in/out. To save my work I had to take a screenshot with PrintScreen key and paste as new image (new tab) which I could save. Then had to use task manager to close PSP.
Main drive (SSD) has 474 GB free space and 2nd drive (HDD) for temp files has 3.63 TB free. PSP has Scratch Disk set to 2nd drive (HDD) And PSP Locations for Cache, and Undo/temp files are also set to 2nd drive (HDD) Just interested in avoiding/preventing that from happening again.

Just realized I've spent more time editing photos in PSP than I did taking them. Priorities!

I've encountered this error before when working with text. Similarly, I experienced the same problem with saving images afterwards.
I assumed that my Windows temp directory was full. It's possible that I had too many programs open simultaneously.

Interesting, for me its not a lack of free file space and have almost no temp files. With 16GB of memory perhaps it is too many programs open? Its so random that it hasn't happened again since last post but I haven't used the fonts much since.
Its odd that using fonts gives JGLObjectToSelection that indicates the object selection tool and not diskspace. But could easily be variable name for using OpenGL api, or for variable array. Next time it happens I hope I'm not as rushed and get to record exactly what steps I was doing.

Out of interest did it make you lose all your shortcut keys?
Exactly like you, I've experienced it twice only. Also My PSP has lost all its shortcut keys twice only. (I can not remember if this was at the same time as it was a few years ago.)
Its only now I am thinking seeming both happened to me "twice" they maybe related. (A lack of space could have somehow wiped shortcut key storage.)

Got that message again. I had just used Text with font Technical and typed 3 sets of numbers with each set on a new line by pressing return key. Then I double-clicked on image far away from numbers. That's when the crash Popup happened. (telling me to free up disc space lol) Script Output popup showed the same JGLObjectToSelection info as OP.
This time I checked the last command and found it odd? Edit > Repeat Offset So I clicked Repeat Offset and got a Windows popup: "The last command could not be repeated, because the parameters used are no longer valid." Anything previously typed on that image then disappeared after that Windows popup.
Also the Script Output popup stated: ------- Command Execution Failed ----------- Command Name: NodeEditOffset Error Text: The attempted operation is not valid in the current program state.
I couldn't get anything else to work in POS other then that edit So I closed that image tab.
But I had 2 other images loaded and could switch to them and those Almost working normally. Opened another .bmp file and it Almost working normally too.
I wrote Almost because this is what was happening: - PSP ignores keyboard shortcuts like copy, paste, delete key - Can use mouse to click same functions in menu bar along top worked fine. - Only the Text Tool does not work at all. - Unable to completely exit/close PSP21, had to use Task Manager.
Odd bug, I was typing numbers not letters, different font, but again was editing text.
