What I noticed on the Magix site under "Select a purchase option", when you tick either Perpetual New, Perpetual Upgrade, Subscription, under the Buy Now button, things change. With New, you see the proDAD Hide and Defishr, with Upgrade, they both disappear, with Subscription, no sale date.

I'm sure they do disappear. But in my case I first left the dot on the full price. And yes, it contained the ad for Defishr and Hide. When that page came up, I noticed the upgrade offer. So chose that. There was nothing there indicating Defishr or Hide, but I wasn't expecting that anyway. It just never occurred to me at that stage of my excitement to take up the offer, that the extras in the ad and the first page were not attached to purchase of the Suite, but how much you paid for it! And I am pretty sure that is exactly what Magix was betting on!

The cost of the other proDAD items added $50USD to the price. All I wanted was Vitascene. So it worked out for me. In Vegas, Pinnacle, Magix, and Resolve, all for $30.
Oh, and they threw in an editor as a bonus!

Ken Berry there is a user in the Vegas forum that uses the Insta360 and edits it in Vegas. This is what he said, " I use the Insta360 studio first to 'convert & merge' their .insv shots first.
You have 2 options of export, whether reframed or 'flatten' 360 source. If you do reframing in insta360 studio, then you can continue doing further editing in NLE of your choice like VEGAS Pro.
If you choose to 'flatten' 360 source, then you can do reframing in VEGAS Pro using Scene Rotation OFX and Tiny Planet OFX, which are put before Pan & Crop chain to avoid resolution being scaled down to project's resolution."

Thanks for that Tony. I confess it never even occurred to me to look at Vegas for my Insta stuff...

Magix do seem to include a lot of free programs with their products, from 3 purchases I have obtained over A$1900 of free programs, including NBTP7, Vitascene 5, Hide 1.5, Respeedr 1.0, NB Cinema Collection & New Blue Stylizers 5 Imagine, for a total outlay of A$350 Plus got Vegas Pro 21, Movie Studio 2024 & Movie Edit Premium as a Bonus

I think that the likes of proDAD and NBFX are in a tough spot right now. NBFX has been leaning more to the live streaming market, basically renaming/grouping their plugins, that for the most part, have been around "forever". Like proDAD with some of it's plugins. With the slowly shrinking market of paid consumer editing software, they are taking in whatever income they can get. For instance, look at the price of NBFX TotalFX. For a perpetual license, $799. I got it with the purchase of Magix Movie Edit Pro 2022Plus for $49. So I got an editor and NBFX TotalFX. How was the money divided between Magix and NBFX, I don't know. But say they split it 50/50, what is then the real value of NBFX? The same with proDAD's current offering with MMS 2024 Suite for $30. Full price now on sale, $489, with upgrades hovering in the $200 or less range depending on which version you are upgrading.
For me, like in the consumer editing world where the "elephant" in the room is Davinci Resolve Free, the plugin "elephant" is BorisFX. Continuum Complete 2024 subscribes at $16.25 per month. NBFX TotalFX is $24.91. Compare what you get in Boris to TotalFX. I have both, and know Boris offers much much more for less. But, with Boris, you need a more "upscale" editing software such as Vegas Pro, Resolve, Adobe Premiere and AE, Media Composer and now support for Final Cut Pro. Professionals don't mind spending the money, people who use consumer editors do. They want everything for free and aren't willing to spend the money.

If there is a ridicules high difference between a "marked" price and the actual "availability" price, of any software, then surly the marked price is nonsense. If bundled plugin for one NLE can work with another NLE than they better check their "locks" * Years ago when I received from Prodad full vitacene for valuation indeed it came with many NLE's installation options but it was also limited to 3 months, so prodad can control their licenses if they want.

The Vitascene plugin that comes with MMS 2024 Suite, when installed from within MMS, only has MMS and OFX for installation. It's when you download the "trial" version, which installs into everything, that you can use the activation serial number and it is activated in everything. It was a "workaround" that I discovered after contacting proDAD support with installation issues with MMS and seeing the Vitascene Install still present in the MMS Effects list.

tonyp, asik1It looks like the price drop to $50 for the new purchase of the Suite version is due to them excluding Dfishr and Hide. Maybe Ken Berry 's feedback made them reconsider their "bait and switch" strategy. There is also a price drop to $100 for the Ultimate version which includes these programs plus a whole bunch of other stuff.

The down side to this software is that it can not import or edit 10 bit 4:2:2. I shoot a lot of that, so for me, it's Vegas Pro. I just wanted Vitascene V5. All the other offers, I have NBFX TotalFX 360, and Mercalli V6.

That might be how many copies have been sold since its appearance. Magix is a German company, so guessing a lot of their product was sold in the Euro marketplace. Pinnacle Studio has millions sold.
