To be aware of this folder.
If you run the cleanup tool then this folder does not get deleted, as far as I know, in which case we can remove it. Sometimes re-naming this folder to 26.0_old may solve some program issues.
Running the program will generate a new 26.0 folder In fact you could try that before re-installing. Although I think a re-install may still be requires

I have tried the reinstalling and still same lockup problem when trying to share to DVD. Attached are the steps I went through. Did I miss something? Question, is the pdf better than posting that 7 page document directly into this post? Reinstall VS.pdf (351.2 KB)

Hi Just to fill in some spaces on the pdf. First I cannot help with the pc clean running the sfc/ Scannow and DISM although I assume the process did fix any file issues.
Installing VideoStudio 2023....
You installed the Main Program only, then ran the installer again to choose Modify, Your second image..... pressing Next should show the Contents and Bonus Features available to install. To complete the Installation you should choose install.
Burning a Disc DVD....
A DVD has to use Mpeg2 files, 720 x 480 x 8000kbps x 29.97 (30p) are typical. The burning program will convert our project to Mpeg2 prior to burning the disc using a process called Convert Title. Sometimes this option fails which unfortunately you are fully aware. We can avoid the Convert Title option by converting / rendering our project to Mpeg2.
With our project open within the main timelines we go to Share - Mpeg2 choosing the 720 x 480 profile, we may need to manage the profile to set the frame rate to Progressive. As Progressive is used by your original MP4 video files. F 1 / Once you are in possession of the Mpeg2 file start a new project to clear the timelines 2 / Share – Disc – DVD, this opens the burner module, no video files. 3 / top left for Insert Video files, browse for the Mpeg2 created earlier. Are you able to get this far.
As a thought.... after choosing Insert Video files the program may show a few Mpeg2 samples, choosing those should insert the file/s to the timeline, do those work.
I am a little concerned that using a project to burn the disc fails when first opening the burner module, I would have expected problems after pressing Burn where Convert Title would be used.

Trevor, again thanks for the help. When I ran the installer the second time I did not click Next. So now I opened the installer and clicked Next to get the below which indicates everything is installed. When I click Download/Install it goes to window that has two options, Launch VS or Finish. Followed your steps to create and load an MPEG-2 file. Then tried burn to DVD and same thing happened, it locked up when I clicked Next after loading the MPEG-2 file.

Very strange, if it's a Windows 11 issue I cannot test as I am using windows10
Video Studio also provides MyDvd that also burns DVD discs, I think you should try that app. There should be a thumbnail on the desktop or via the start menu.

MyDvd is an option. Actually, I have used in years past until my old version apparently aged out and would not work anymore. I liked it better than Adobe's. Will try that.
Thanks Trevor
